A 22-year-old man was shot in the elbow Thursday evening while walking on Monument Street at the intersection of East Avenue in Baltimore.
According to a press release, the man told police he was walking when he heard gunshots on May 6. When the man arrived at his home, he said he realized he had been shot in the elbow and went to a nearby hospital.
Police were called to the hospital around 6:30 p.m. and found the man with a non-life threatening injury.
The incident is being investigated by Central District shooting detectives.

As of May 7, police say there has been 215 non-fatal shooting in Baltimore in 2021, an 11.4 percent increase from the year before.
