The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) announced a homicide investigation in the Southern District.
On Feb. 25, at approximately 7:13 p.m., officers responded to the 3500 block of 5th Street for a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located an unidentified man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his body.
The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. He later succumbed to his injuries.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene and have assumed control of the investigation.
