The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a homicide in the early morning of Aug. 20.
According to a news release, officers responded to the 500 block of Bentalou Street around 12:39 a.m. for a shot spotter alert.
Upon arrival, officers found 38-year-old Delaney Simmons suffering from gunshot wounds lying in the alley adjacent to the 2300 block of Ashton Street.
The victim was transported to Shock Trauma, where he was later pronounced deceased.
