The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) announced a shooting investigation in the Western District.
On Sept. 10, at approximately 3:09 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Islamic Way to investigate a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located a 49-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was transported to an area hospital and is listed in critical condition.
A person of interest was taken into custody at the scene.
Due to the severity of the victim’s injuries, homicide detectives have assumed control of the investigation.
