Man Found Guilty of 7-Eleven Murder

A Baltimore City Circuit Court jury reached a verdict for a 2023 murder that occurred in a 7-Eleven parking lot. 

Kerin Aviles-Alvarez, 21, was found guilty of first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, possession of a firearm as a minor and having a handgun on his person on June 21 before Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer. These charges are in relation to the murder of 21-year-old Edgar Bonilla-Guerra on April 3, 2023. 

According to previous reports, Aviles-Alvarez was with his friends when he ran around the corner and shot Bonilla-Guerra in his torso while he was walking across a parking lot near a 7-Eleven on the 6300 block of Eastern Avenue. Bonilla-Guerra died later that day.

The suspect’s mother, a key witness, identified Aviles-Alvarez and described a tattoo on his right hand.. She also said Aviles-Alvarez frequented that location of 7-Eleven. 

James Sweeting III represented Aviles-Alvarez at trial.

A sentencing date has not been scheduled yet.
