A Baltimore man charged in a shooting from last October received a July trial date during a reception court hearing on April 6.
Richard Holland, 34, faces double counts of attempted murder and assault, as well as multiple gun offenses and one count of reckless endangerment for allegedly shooting a 31-year-old man on the 200 block of E. North Avenue during the early morning hours of Oct. 27, 2025.
Charging documents state the victim was found to be in stable condition. He was transferred to an East Baltimore hospital, where he received treatment for his gunshot wound.
During the hearing, the state offered Holland life in prison, suspending all but 40 years of active incarceration. Holland declined the offer, opting instead to proceed with a jury trial.
Holland is now set to stand trial before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Cynthia H. Jones on July 21, alongside defense attorney Marci Johnson.
