Milton Johnson, 21, declined a plea deal before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland on March 27.

The prosecution offered Johnson ten years, suspending all but seven, for attempted second-degree murder, and five years for firearm use in a violent crime, as well as three years of supervised probation.

On the day of the incident, the victim was in the process of cleaning his car at Harford Heights Elementary School in the 1900 block of  N. Broadway. Johnson approached and allegedly said, “Yeah, I got you now, b*tch,” before opening fire.

As the victim fled to safety through an alley, Johnson reportedly fired another round. The victim was uninjured and called 911. As officers arrived, Johnson stepped outside onto his porch and the victim identified him as the alleged shooter. Johnson was taken into custody.

While investigating the scene, officers recovered two shell casings and two live rounds.

Johnson will return to court July 10 for a jury trial before Judge Lynn S. Mays.
