Attempted homicide defendant Dorian Milstred will have his day in court in February 2023 for allegedly shooting his ex-girlfriend in North Baltimore two years ago.

During reception court on Aug. 22, Milstred and his defense attorney, Donald Wright, appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn as the prosecution offered the defendant a plea of 20 years, the first five years without parole, for attempted first-degree murder.

The Baltimore Police Department previously reported that a 19-year-old woman, later identified as Milstred’s ex-girlfriend, suffered a grazed gunshot wound to her right ear in September 2021 on the 2700 block of Atkinson Street.

Milstred rejected the plea offer, which also required him to register as a gun offender and stay away from his ex-girlfriend.

Wright told the court that he was available to try the case this week and next week; however, the prosecution was not available.

Judge Phinn scheduled Milstred’s trial for Feb. 6, 2023, before Judge Charles Dorsey III.
