A man accused of shooting a 43-year-old woman was found mentally competent to stand trial during reception court on Oct. 21. His case will move to trial next year.
Bryant Ray Ferguson, 36, allegedly shot a woman on the 1700 block of Ellsworth Street on Nov. 21, 2020. He is charged with attempted second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and 10 other firearm-related charges.
Ferguson was in reception court earlier this month but was waiting for the results of his competency hearing.
A trial is scheduled for Feb. 24, 2022.
