Anthony Ford, 28, received his new trial date before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland on June 6.
Ford is charged with first-degree child abuse resulting in death and serious injury, as well as first-degree assault for his alleged role in the death of his five-month-old daughter, Brailynn Ford. Brailynn died from her injuries on Oct. 7, 2018.
Charging documents state that Brailynn’s mother reported her daughter was acting normal before she left for work on Oct. 4, 2018. Brailynn was left in Ford’s care. On the same day, police were called to the 1000 block of Mosher Street for reports of an unresponsive infant.
Brailynn’s death was ruled a homicide by abusive head trauma.
Ford’s trial is expected to begin Oct. 1 and last until Oct. 7. Judge Lawrence R. Daniels will preside over the case.
