Man Accused of Attempted Murder Receives July Trial Date

On April 11, attempted murder defendant Luis Ventura-Reyes received a July trial date from Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland.

Ventura-Reyes, 30, is currently charged with two counts each of attempted first- and- second degree murder, two counts each of first- and- second degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment, firearm use in a felony violent crime, wearing and carrying a gun on his person, and firing a gun in connection to a May 31, 2023, incident.

The prosecution had no plea offer for Ventura-Reyes and his defense attorney, Ryan Mooney. He was standing in for Thomas C. Mooney, due to pending matters.

Judge Copeland scheduled a four day trial beginning on July 29.
