A man accused of attempted murder is waiting for the results of a contested competency hearing.

Lamont Wood, 36, is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, and four firearms charges.

During reception court on Oct. 6 at the Baltimore City Circuit Court, the prosecution told Judge Melissa Phinn that a plea offer has not been given to Wood because he has a contested the competency hearing that will take place on Dec. 2. 

Wood is scheduled to return to reception court on Dec. 6 to either be sent back to mental health court or to see if he is deemed competent to stand trial.

His defense attorney is Anne Stewart-Hill.
