On May 20, a dedendant was offered a plea of 25 years, suspending all but five years without parole, three years of supervised probation, and mandatory gun offender registration before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland. The offer will stand for 30 days.
On Dec. 30, 2024, an alleged parking dispute between Jamon Fields, 27, and his landlord reportedly escalated into a shooting that saw Fields allegedly fire five rounds through the windshield of his landlord’s vehicle.
Baltimore Police Department (BPD) officers responded to the 3400 block of Duvell Avenue, where Fields and his landlord had argued about Fields parking his and his friends’ vehicles in front of the property.
Fields’ landlord accused Fields of throwing her to the ground, choking her, discharging his handgun, and smashing her 2011 Volkswagen. In return she is also said to have damaged Fields’ 2010 Subaru, a 2020 Toyota, and Fields’ girlfriend’s 2021 Hyundai with a hammer.
Fields was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, discharging a firearm within Baltimore City, and malicious destruction of property valuing over $1000.
Fields is set to stand trial for three days, beginning July 7.
