Jamon Fields, 27, and counsel appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Kimberly C. McBride on June 9 to request a postponement in proceedings to finalize a plea deal.

Fields is charged with first-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, discharging a gun and malicious destruction of property valued at over $1,000 in connection to an attack that occurred last December on the 3400 block of Duvall Avenue.

On Dec. 30, 2024 Baltimore Police Department (BPD) officers responded to the 3400 block of Duvall Avenue for a report of an aggravated assault. Fields allegedly fired five rounds into his landlord’s 2011 Volkswagen after a verbal argument regarding public parking escalated into a physical fight.

Fields’ landlord had reportedly taken issue with Fields and his friends parking on the public street in front of her property. She advised that after firing, Fields allegedly pointed the gun at her, threw her to the ground and choked her. In retaliation, she damaged Field’s and his girlfriend’s car.

The prosecution made the postponement motion to finalize a plea deal and amend the offer for defense attorney Marvin Ochoa. The prosecution, whose previous offer encompassed both the assault and firearm use charge, agreed to pursue the assault charge alone.

Judge McBride transferred the motion to Judge Melissa K. Copeland, who granted an approval set a plea review forJuly 14.
