Jamon Fields, 27, and counsel, Marvin Ochoa, appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Kimberly C. McBride on July 14 to enter a guilty plea for Fields’ charge of first-degree assault.

Fields also faced charges of firearm use in a violent crime, discharging a gun, and malicious destruction of property valued over $1000 in connection to a non-fatal shooting incident that occurred last December on the 3400 block of Duvall Avenue.

On Dec. 30, 2024, officers responded to the 3400 block of Duvall Avenue following up on a complaint of an aggravated assault. Fields allegedly fired five rounds into his landlord’s 2011 Volkswagen after a verbal argument regarding public parking escalated into a physical fight.

According to charging documents, Fields’ landlord had reportedly taken issue with Fields and his friends parking on the public street in front of her property. After the argument escalated, she allegedly began damaging a car belonging to Fields and his girlfriend with a hammer. In retaliation, Fields allegedly pointed the gun at his landlord, threw her to the ground and choked her.

Fields was ultimately sentenced to 25 years, suspending all but 18 months of home detention, followed by two years of supervised probation upon release.

No further hearings are scheduled at this time.
