Dominic Pressley, 38, rejected a plea deal in a murder and shooting case before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeannie J. Hong on May 21..
Pressley is charged with first-degree murder and two counts each of attempted first- and second-degree murder and assault, as well as various firearm violations, in connection to a July 20, 2024 shooting that occurred in the 2400 block of Loyola Northway. The shooting leftAlan Grant, 30, deceased, and two others injured.
The prosecution’s offer was for the charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and two counts of firearm use in a felony violent crime. The details included life imprisonment, suspending all but 60 years, the first five to be served without the possibility of parole. Per the terms, Pressley would also have been required to serve five years of supervised probation. He rejected the offer.
Defense attorney Angela Shelton filed a motion to postpone her client’s case, hoping to secure an expert analyst to review DNA evidence that was released in April.
Judge Hong deferred the postponement decision to Judge Melissa K. Copeland, who agreed to set a five-day jury trial beginning Sept. 2. The court has yet to select a judge to preside over the case.
