A 16-year-old defendant, who pleaded guilty on Feb. 11 to attempted second-degree murder and shooting at two individuals in Northeast Baltimore more than a year ago, will be sentenced in May.
The teenaged defendant initially faced 22 charges in connection to the shooting, which occurred Aug. 1, 2024 on the 4900 block of Aberdeen Avenue. When officers responded to the scene, they located one man suffering from gunshot wounds to his head, upper torso and right arm. Spent shell casings were found in the area, as well as the victim’s vehicle.
The other individual, who had been sitting in the front passenger seat of the victim’s vehicle, was uninjured in the gunfire.
Baltimore Police later obtained surveillance footage that showed several suspects fleeing the scene on foot. Among them was 17-year-old Antonio Harmon, who pleaded guilty last May to the same charges and received an aggregate sentence of 50 years, suspending all but 18 years.
The unnamed 16-year-old defendant’s sentencing hearing is currently set to proceed May 12 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge M. Brooke Murdock.
