The trial of homicide co-defendants Brian Campbell and Corey Shawn Smith scheduled for March 23 was pushed back a day while the presiding judge finishes another trial.
Campbell, 24, and Smith, 28, are both facing charges of first-degree murder and were set to begin jury selection Wednesday morning before Judge Phillip S. Jackson. A clerk in the judge’s chambers informed Baltimore Witness that jury selection was postponed until March 24 due to the ongoing homicide trial of Kalim Satterfield.
The prosecution and Campbell and Smith’s respective defense attorneys, Michael Tomko and Robert Cole, agreed on the March trial date in August 2021 nearly three years after the incident on Sept. 28, 2018.
Defense attorney Roland Brown is currently listed as Campbell’s counsel, according to the Maryland Judiciary website.
