Jury selection began the morning of Feb. 4 for the trial of Timothy Knott, 28, a man charged with first-degree murder and various firearm charges.
Knott’s case was previously declared a mistrial in April, though the reason was undisclosed.
The defendant was arrested on April 29, 2024 after police found Anthony Pearson, 43, on the 4600 block of Garrison Boulevard, underneath a utility truck suffering from gunshot wounds. Pearson was rushed to Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Another victim was found nearby with a gunshot graze wound.
Police then recovered surveillance footage from Garrison Boulevard that allegedly showed Knott leaving his red Chrysler minivan and shooting Pearson with a handgun, according to charging documents. Upon arrest, Knott confirmed the red Chrysler minivan was his.
On Wednesday, jurors appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Robert K. Taylor to begin the selection process for the final panel.
The trial will continue throughout the week.
