Jury selection began for a 22-year-old Baltimore man charged with murder in connection to the death of Marvin Mason on July 19 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Charles M. Blomquist

Reubin McFadden is charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, use of a firearm during a violent crime, conspiracy to commit use of a firearm during a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person, robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery in connection to incident on Aug. 13, 2021.

McFadden’s two co-defendants, Martez Frye-Cuff and Dneah Smith, both accepted plea deals in March. 

McFadden was represented by defense attorney Catherine Flynn. 

According to Baltimore Sun, on Dec. 3, 2019, Baltimore Police Department officers responded to a Shot Spotter alert around 2:30 a.m. on the 2400 block of W. Baltimore Street in Baltimore’s Shipley Hill neighborhood. When they arrived, police found Mason in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with a gunshot wound to his chest.

McFadden’s trial is scheduled to begin on July 20 at 9a.m.
