A Baltimore City Jury acquitted Delvon Bryant, 19, of attempted first-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder on Aug. 27 in connection to a 2025 shooting. A mistrial was declared when the jury couldn’t reach a verdict on the other four counts, including first-degree assault and three firearm related charges.
The court granted a motion for judgement of acquittal on the charge of illegal possession of a regulated firearm.
According to the charging documents, Baltimore Police Department (BPD) officers responded to the 3000 block of Ridgewood Avenue on Dec. 9, 2025, after receiving a report of a shooting. Detectives allegedly saw Bryant and two other individuals leaving an alley, and police said that Bryant appeared to be armed before fleeing on foot. Detectives later apprehended Bryant and a loaded .22 caliber handgun was recovered about three feet from him.
Police later found a victim on the front porch of a residence on Ridgewood Avenue with a gunshot wound to his left wrist. Officers followed a blood trail into the residence, where they found two shell casings. According to the charging documents, the victim told detectives that two unidentified individuals attempted to rob him. He also identified Bryant, who he knew as “Del,” as the person who shot him.
The current trial date for the remaining charges is scheduled for Nov. 17 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jeannie J. Hong.
