A jury trial for a Baltimore man charged in a 2025 shooting was postponed July 8 in Baltimore City Circuit Court due to a juror shortage but was rescheduled for the following day.b
Eddie Murphy, 43, was originally scheduled to stand trial before Judge Kendra Y. Ausby on Wednesday, alongside defense attorney Jason Rodriguez.
Murphy is charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault and multiple firearm offenses in connection to the March 29, 2025 shooting of a woman inside a car.
According to charging documents, police responded to Johns Hopkins Hospital after the victim arrived seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to her face. Investigators learned the shooting happened after an argument inside a vehicle on the 1100 block of N. Fulton Avenue.
The victim told police the man she was shot with a handgun, which malfunctioned during a second attempt. The victim later identified a person said to be Murphy as the shooter through a photographic array, according to court records. Murphy was arrested less than one week later, on April 6, 2026.
Jury selection is now set to begin tomorrow, July 9.
