Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland scheduled a July 1 trial date for a non-fatal shooting defendant on March 26. The trial is slated to last two days before Judge Yvette M. Bryant

Brian Bradshaw is charged with first- and second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, and reckless endangerment, as well as several related firearm charges in connection to a Oct. 28, 2024, non-fatal shooting incident that occurred in a residence located on the 1100 block of Lucerne Avenue. The incident left a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his left thigh.

According to charging documents, a Baltimore Police Department (BPD) officer arrived at the Lucerne Avenue residence in response to a request made by the victim’s mother following an argument between her and Bradshaw, 19. Bradshaw complied with the officer’s order to vacate the residence and left with his belongings.

While at the scene, the officer noticed the victim was limping and appeared to be in pain. The victim did not speak with the officer at the time.

At approximately 2:11 p.m. the same day, officers responded to a radio dispatch to Johns Hopkins Hospital for a report of a walk-in shooting victim who was later confirmed to be the limping man located at Lucerne Avenue. The victim told officers he engaged in a tussle with Bradshaw in the residence’s dining room because “he could no longer accept the names [Bradshaw] called his mother.”

During taped interviews, the victim said he heard two gunshots during the tussle and soon noticed pain in his left leg. He was able to identify Bradshaw from a single photo officers showed him.

The victim’s mother advised police that she had a 20-year-old, 16-year-old, 3-year-old, and a 2-month old in her home at the time of the incident.

BPD later secured the residence and recovered one projectile from the dining room, a black Polymer80 9mm pistol loaded with a magazine and 16 live rounds from the basement, and a silver Phoenix Raven Arms .25-caliber automatic pistol with one round in the chamber and three in the magazine.

Bradshaw was represented by defense attorney Gregory J. Fischer, who was standing in for his original defense attorney, Maureen O’Leary.
