A trial date was set on March 6 in the case against Kamrin Brown, a 23-year-old woman accused in the murder of 30-year-old Paris Savage last spring, after the defendant rejected a plea offer from the state.
Brown is charged with second-degree murder in connection to a physical assault that occurred on April 6, 2025. Officers responded to the 1500 block of N. Payson Street, where they found Savage suffering from trauma to his body. Savage was transported to a hospital for treatment, but succumbed to his injuries a day later.
Last September, Brown rejected a plea offer from the state of 40 years, suspending all but 20, opting instead for a jury trial. Determining the plea deal has been a point of contention in the case, and counsel has engaged in ongoing discussions regarding the appropriate terms.
During the latest proceeding, attorneys briefly discussed a more recent offer from the state of 40 years, suspending all but 12 for the charge of second-degree murder. The sentence would be followed by a five-year supervised probationary period. Brown rejected this offer as well, leading counsel to seek a date for trial.
In response, the court set a three-day jury trial beginning July 14 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Michael A. DiPietro.
