On Jan. 4, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Dana M. Middleton scheduled a six-day trial for a 24-year-old attempted murder defendant.
Cornelius Williams is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime and having a handgun on his person in connection to a June 13, 2023, incident.
The prosecutor did not have an approved plea offer for Williams or his attorney, Jason Rodriguez.
There are two cases against Williams, but a judge has not yet ruled on the prosecution’s motion to join them.
The prosecutor asked for six days to be set aside for either one trial or two trials back to back to allow for the 18 witnesses she plans to bring.
Judge Middleton scheduled the trial to begin on May 17 before Judge Althea M. Handy.
According to a press release from the Baltimore Police Department, Williams is accused of shooting a 57-year-old male on the 700 block of Poplar Grove Street. Officers arrested Williams after he barricaded himself inside an apartment.
