On Oct. 3, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn scheduled a jury trial for the remaining defendant in a two-year-old murder case.
Ronnie Harris, Jr., is charged with first-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person, firearm possession with a felony conviction and felony witness intimidation in connection to a Jan. 31, 2022, murder of 31-year-old James Moore.
Harris, 40, is the remaining defendant in this case, having never been tried for these allegations. Harris’ two codefendants, Janay Barksdale and Morgan Reed, have both taken plea agreements and are expected to testify against Harris at his next trial.
Harris and his attorney, Andre Mahasa, will next appear for Harris’ trial before Judge Lynn Stewart Mays on Feb. 8, 2024.
According to documents from the District Court of Maryland, Baltimore Police Department (BPD) officers responded to the 3400 block of North Franklintown Road, where they pronounced Moore dead on the scene. A witness identified Harris as the shooter after he allegedly threatened to kill her if she spoke to police.
