Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K Copeland granted a postponement in a family dispute shooting case on July 21 to give the defense attorney more time to review the evidence.
The defendant, Craig Williams Jr, 51 is charged with attempted first and second degree murder, assault first degree, reckless endangerment, illegal possession of a regulated firearm and handgun on person.
According to charging documents, on Dec, 4, 2025 at approximately 12:50 AM officers responded to the 3500 block of Liberty Heights Avenue for a report of a woman who was shot.
Upon arrival police located the victim lying on the sidewalk suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the stomach and right side. She was treated by medics and transported to Sinai Hospital.
Meanwhile, on a nearby porch several children stated their mother that was shot. Adding that she had been arguing with her baby father allegedly identified as Craig Russell Williams when a gun went off.
The detective showed a picture of Williams who acknowledged that she was arguing with him and he allegedly shot her.
A four day trial set for Oct. 20 before Judge Anthony Vittoria.
