On March 15, the prosecutor assigned to a 2015 murder case informed a Baltimore City Circuit Court judge that Clifton T. Perkins Hospital needed an extension to perform a competency evaluation on the defendant.

Defendant Anthony Burris’ appearance was waived on Wednesday, by his attorney Michael Lawlor.

Burris, 33, has yet to be evaluated despite this being the third competency evaluation extension, according to Baltimore Witness.

Judge Gale E. Rasin granted the extension and postponed the hearing until April 12.

According to the Maryland Judiciary website, Burris faces charges of firearm use during a felony violent crime and second-degree murder in connection to the fatal shooting of 31-year-old Earl Burton on the 1100 block of Laurens Street on Oct. 31, 2015.
