On Feb 28, a Baltimore man charged with attempted murder received a new trial date before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Defendant Michael McDowell was initially scheduled to appear for the first day of trial before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gregory Sampson, but the assistant state’s attorney was unable to be present due to an ongoing trial.
On Nov. 11, 2021, McDowell was arrested and charged with the non-fatal shooting of a 17-year-old male on the 3600 block of Park Heights Avenue.
McDowell, 23, is charged with one count each of attempted first and second-degree murder, one count each of first and second-degree assault, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person, and discharging firearms.
Judge Phinn granted the request for postponement and rescheduled the defendant’s trial date for March 1 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer Schiffer.
