On June 29, at approximately 10:19 p.m., officers with the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) responded to the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue to investigate a call for a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers followed medics transporting 39-year-old Steven Johnson suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds to the University of Maryland Medical Center Shock Trauma. Despite life-saving measures, the victim was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Central District homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
