Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Dana M. Middleton postponed the trial of Anthony Ford, 29, on Jan. 21 after the case’s prosecuting attorney was unable to appear due to a family emergency.
Ford is charged with first- and second-degree murder and assault, reckless endangerment and child abuse.
On Oct. 8, 2018, officers received a report that Ford’s five-month-old daughter, Brailynn Ford, was unresponsive and nonbreathing at their residence on the 1000 block of Mosher Street. Charging documents state that Brailynn had injuries consistent with shaken baby syndrome, including hemorrhaging around her eyes and brain swelling.
Defense attorney Marci Johnson did not object to the proposed postponement.
The trial will resume on April 15, and is set to last five days.
