The trial of homicide defendant Bernard Davenport was rescheduled for September as the prosecution was already booked for another trial on June 6.
Davenport, 29, was originally scheduled for a jury trial on Monday in connection to a murder on Oct. 1, 2020, on the 800 block of North Franklintown Road, where officers with the Baltimore Police Department found a man with a gunshot wound to his head.
The victim died the following day.
Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn agreed to reschedule Davenport’s trial to Sept. 23 before Judge Melissa K. Copeland.
In addition to first-degree murder, the defendant is also charged with firearm use in a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person, and firearm possession with a felony conviction.
