A 23-year-old homicide defendant’s trial initially scheduled for Jan. 26 was postponed to April on Jan. 26 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn.
Ronald Haskins is being charged with first-degree murder, firearm use during a violent crime, having a handgun on his person, and firearm possession with a felony conviction.
Trial was postponed due to the suspension of jury selection with the rise of Covid-19 cases.
According to the Baltimore Sun, on Jan. 1, 2020 officers were called to the 1400 block of Broening Highway at approximately 2:30 p.m. for reports of shots being fired, where they found 38-year-old Richard Pearson suffering from a gunshot wound.
The medics took the victim to an area hospital, where he later died.
Haskins is represented by defense attorney Josh Insley. Haskins’ trial is scheduled for April 1.
