Homicide Defendant’s Trial Scheduled for February 2023

On Aug. 26, a homicide defendant had his trial scheduled for February 2023 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn

Dorrell Jackson, 26, is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm during a felony violent crime, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, having a handgun on his person, having a handgun in a vehicle, and use of a deadly weapon with the intent to injure in connection to the shooting of Amir Whyee, 21.

The prosecutor did not have a plea offer for the defendant. 

According to CBS Baltimore, on Dec. 1, 2021, officers were called to the 500 block of Random Road at about 2:30 p.m. in response to a shooting, where they found Whyee suffering from gunshots.

The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he later died.

Defense attorney William Buie III represents Jackson.

His trial is scheduled for Feb. 4, 2023, and is expected to last four days.
