Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge John S. Nugent declared a mistrial on July 19 for a Baltimore man charged with second-degree murder.
31-year-old Anthony Clark Jr., who is currently known as Malik Shakur, is charged for second-degree murder and use of a firearm during a violent crime in connection to an incident in 2016.
Initially, Shakur was granted a new trial in 2020 by the Court of Special Appeals in April 2020 due to evidence that he was wrongfully admitted.
Shakur was represented by defense attorney Michael Cooper.
Judge Nugent declared a mistrial for reasons unknown and dismissed the jurors on Tuesday.
Shakur’s new trial is scheduled for Feb. 21, 2023.
