A 36-year-old Baltimore man had a mental health evaluation postponed due to not being able to be admitted for further evaluation on July 20 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale. E. Raisin.

Ronald Alston is charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, and robbery in connection to an incident on Feb. 18, 2020.

Alston’s defense attorney Brandon Taylor said he believes his client’s health is deteriorating the longer he is in the jail facility. Alston is in the Institute of mental health unit, said Taylor.

The correctional officers at the facility say Alston does not participate in activities.

Judge Rasin informed the court that the defendant has not been admitted for further evaluation. She postponed his hearing until August.

Alston’s next hearing is scheduled for Aug. 24.
