A homicide defendant is set to return to reception court after his defense attorney could not be reached Dec. 7.
Cortez Johnson is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm during a felony-violent crime, carry/wear handgun on person and possession of a firearm by a minor for his alleged involvement in the death of 38-year-old Ivan Joseph Green on the 1900 block of Braddish Avenue on April 17.
Judge Melissa Phinn could not schedule a trial date for the defendant because his attorney, Michael Cooper, was not present during the hearing and could not be reached.
The case will return to reception court on Dec. 20, so trial dates can be selected.
