The post-conviction trial of a 33-year-old Baltimore man who was charged with felony possession of a regulated firearm was scheduled on Sept. 10 at Baltimore City Circuit Court.
Warren Savage was charged in connection to an incident on Sept. 19, 2010. He is currently serving 25 years but was entitled to a new trial due because the court had erred in denying his Batson challenge, which is an objection to a peremptory challenge on grounds that the other party used it to exclude a potential juror based on race, ethnicity, or sex.
On Friday, defense attorney Donald Wright said that Savage was placed in quarantine and that Wright did not have the opportunity to relay any plea offers to his client.
Judge Melissa M. Phinn stated that there would be no further postponements and set a trial date for Oct. 27.
