A 34-year-old man convicted of homicide in 2016 had a retrial rescheduled for October.
Laser Womack is charged with having a handgun on his person and second-degree murder in connection to an incident on March 25, 2014.
The retrial, which was slated to begin on Feb. 7 and last for six days, was postponed due to the suspension of jury selection with the rise of COVID-19 cases.
Initially, Womack was found guilty of three counts of second degree murder and was convicted of homicide in 2016, as well as sentenced to 80 years suspending all but 40 years in prison with five years probation for his involvement in a triple shooting.
According to Baltimore Fox, on March 25, 2014, at approximately 10:30 p.m. officers were called to a home on 8th Street in Brooklyn for reports of shots being fired, where they found a deceased woman with multiple gunshot wounds along with a second victim with 12 gunshot wounds, and a third victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds including one to the face.
Womack was represented by defense attorney Sharon Dubey.
Womack’s retrial is rescheduled for Oct. 26 with Judge Yolanda A. Tanner.
