Homicide Defendant Denied Bail 6 Months After Alleged Incident

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Phillip Jackson denied bail Jan. 25 for a homicide defendant almost 6 months after an alleged fight with the victim.

Brandon Beshore, 34 is charged with first-degree murder, having a deadly weapon with intent to injure, and making a false statement to a police officer in connection to an incident on June 21, 2021. 

During a bail hearing on Tuesday, Judge Jackson listened as the prosecutor informed the court that there were multiple witnesses reporting that there was a fight between two males. The defendant allegedly stabbed the victim. 

Beshore’s defense attorney, Natalie Finegar, argued that some of the prosecution’s witnesses on scene of the incident have said that the defendant was not the aggressor. She also said that the defendant was protecting himself by using self-defense. 

In addition, Finegar added that although Beshore has a prior criminal record, none of his previous charges are this serious. Finegar requested that Beshore be granted home detention, where he would be living with his mother. 

Judge Jackson denied the defendant’s bail after deeming him a threat to public safety.  

Beshore’s next hearing is scheduled on March 1.
