The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) announced a homicide investigation in the Western District.
On Feb. 23, at approximately 12:28 a.m., Western District patrol officers responded to the 600 block of Poplar Grove Street to investigate a ShotSpotter alert.
Upon arrival, officers located an unidentified male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.
The victim was transported to an area hospital by medics, where he was pronounced deceased by hospital staff.
Update: On Feb. 28, officers announced the death of victim Eric Carter, 30.
