Murder defendant Andrew Curry, 24, appeared before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland to receive a trial date on June 30 for his alleged involvement in the killing of Desmond Green in 2023.

Curry is charged with first-degree murder in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred near the 3400 block of Spelman Road on Jan. 26, 2023. He is believed to be one of three men who shot and killed the 27-year-old victim, who was on his way to visit his young daughter during his lunch break.

Co-defendant Parris Harris, 20, was sentenced to life in prison following a three-day jury trial in July 2024.

During Monday’s proceeding, the court scheduled Curry’s four-day trial to begin Nov. 10.

Defense attorney Natalie Finegar expressed full confidence that the case could be tried within the four-day window, emphasizing her belief in the strength and efficiency of her defense strategy.

Curry agreed to waive his speedy trial deadline of July 8 for the upcoming trial, stating he is comfortable with the extension. He claimed to place his full trust in Finegar, saying he is “putting his life in her hands.”
