Eastern District Officers Open Investigation into Robbery Turned Non-Fatal Shooting on Sherwood Avenue

On June 16, at approximately 3:45 a.m., Eastern District patrol officers with the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) responded to the 1600 block of Normal Avenue to investigate a reported shooting.

Once at the location, officers located a 39-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the left knee. The victim was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was in the 2300 block of Sherwood Avenue when an unidentified male suspect approached the victim and attempted to rob him. At this time, the victim tried to wrestle away the suspect gun when he was shot. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction.
