The defense’s request for a postponement in the trial of non-fatal shooting defendant Travis Cothran was granted on July 25.
Cothran, 46, is indicted with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and numerous firearm charges in connection to an incident on Oct. 29, 2024. On the 1800 block of N. Collington Avenue, Cothran allegedly fired a gun from his vehicle and wounded a 35-year-old man.
Cothran’s attorney, Natalie Finegar, requested that his trial be postponed. His case was transferred to her in early July, and the discovery of evidence phase is incomplete, Finegar explained. The prosecution did not object to the request.
Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland granted Finegar’s request for postponement.
The trial is set to begin on Nov. 3, with three days allotted for proceedings.
