Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn granted a prosefcution request on Aug. 13 to delay the trial of Kahlil Calloway, 26, after crime lab technicians reported DNA evidence pertinent to the case requires two more weeks for processing.
Calloway’s defense attorney, Marci T. Johnson, neither joined nor objected to the request.
Calloway is facing attempted murder, assault and handgun charges in relation to a non-fatal shooting incident that occurred Jan. 2, on the 2600 block of E. Federal Street.
The victims, a woman and a man, were reportedly sitting in the backseat of a Ford Explorer when a man identified as “Woe” entered the front seat. He told the pair, “Sorry,” before opening fire.
The female victim was struck multiple times in the torso and head, while the male victim was struck once in the hand. Both were transported to the hospital for treatment.
“Woe” was reportedly later identified as Calloway through a photographic array.
Judge Phinn set Calloway’s new trial date for Sept. 22.
