Detectives Launch Homicide Investigation into Fatal Shooting on Grinnalds Avenue

On May 30, at approximately 9:38 p.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of Grinnalds Avenue to investigate a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officer observed an unidentified male suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. Medics responded and transported the victim to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Southwest homicide detectives with the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) responded and assumed control over this investigation.

The BPD later identified the victim as 36-year-old Maurice Smith.
