The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) has announced an arrest in a homicide that occurred last month in the Central District.
On July 14, at approximately 8:56 a.m., Central District officers responded to a residence on the 800 block of Abbott Court to investigate a call for service.
Upon arrival, officers located a deceased woman with trauma to the head, who was later identified as 38-year-old Sierra Johnson.
While on the scene, officers canvassed the immediate area and located the suspect, 36-year-old Bryan Cherry, on the 1300 block of Homewood Avenue. Officers promptly arrested Cherry.
Detectives believe Cherry physically assaulted Johnson, resulting in her death.
Cherry was transported to the Central Booking & Intake Facility, where he was charged with first-degree murder and additional offenses.
