On July 23, Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland granted a defense request to postpone the trial of Robert Hardy, 39, who faces multiple charges in connection to a 2024 non-fatal shooting incident.

Hardy is charged with attempted first- and attempted-second-degree murder, first-degree assault, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, reckless endangerment, and several related firearm offenses stemming from a Nov. 17, 2024 incident that occurred on the 400 block of W. Saratoga Street.

During the hearing, stand-in defense attorney Romel Showell requested a postponement due to the unavailability of Hardy’s attorney, Maureen O’Leary

The trial was originally scheduled before the defendant’s speedy trial deadline of Aug. 11. Judge Copeland acknowledged the deadline and granted the defense request to dely, citing attorney availability.

Davis’ trial is now set for Sept. 3.
