Defendant Waives Deadline, Agrees to April Trial

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K Copeland granted the prosecution’s request to postpone attempted murder defendant Devin Shadle’s jury trial to April 28 due to a scheduling conflict. Shadle agreed to waive his Hicks date, meaning a defendant must come to trial within 180 days.

Shadle faces 13 charges, including attempted first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, and related firearm and property damage charges.

Shadle, who appeared in postponement court on Feb. 11, was originally scheduled for trial on Feb. 18, four days before Shadle’s Hicks date.
