Defendant Remains Incompetent to Stand Trial In Kim’s Deli Murder Case

A judge ordered that a murder defendant remained incompetent to stand trial during his annual review before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin on Oct. 19.

Judge Rasin said based on an Oct. 11 report the defendant Terrance Peterson remains a danger to himself and others and should stay under the care of the Maryland Department of Health.

Peterson, 31, was found incompetent to stand trial for the charges of first-degree murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, possession of a firearm with a felony conviction and having a handgun in a vehicle on a public road in connection to an incident on Dec. 22, 2019 at Kim’s Deli in the Patterson Park neighborhood.

According to CBS Baltimore News, Peterson turned himself in to police for allegedly shooting 36-year-old Carmen Rodriguez during a botched robbery.

A follow up meeting was not scheduled for Peterson, who is represented by attorney Deborah Levi.
